As part of the mission of the Church of Annunciation to care for the sick, elderly, and homebound, Father Ricardo regularly visits parishioners in their homes each week who are no longer able to attend Mass at the parish. During these visits, he provides pastoral care and administers the Sacraments, ensuring that they remain spiritually connected to the life of the Church.
Also, Father Ricardo together with members of our Lay Ministry regularly brings the presence of Christ through the celebration of the Holy Mass, the Sacraments, prayer, and the distribution of Holy Communion to residents in several local nursing homes and senior living communities.
The Church of Annunciation currently provides pastoral care to the following communities:
ExcelCare at Wayne – Nursing & Rehabilitation Center
Holy Mass is celebrated on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM.
Sunrise Senior Living of Wayne
Holy Mass is celebrated on the first Wednesday of each month at 10:30 AM.
During the liturgical seasons of Advent and Lent, Father Ricardo, together with Geralynn Wetmore and Madison Crum from the Activities Department, also organizes and celebrates the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the residents at Sunrise Senior Living.
In addition, Father Ricardo is available upon request to provide pastoral assistance and sacramental administration at the following residences:
Brookdale Senior Living at Wayne
Brightview Senior Living at Wayne
The Bristal Assisted Living at Wayne
JDT Villa Rehabilitation Center at Lincoln Park
CareOne at Wayne
Residents from The Bristal Assisted Living are transported by their management team to our Parish every Friday to attend the 12:00 PM Mass and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Our Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC) play an important role in assisting with this outreach ministry:
James and Maryann visit ExcelCare at Wayne on the second and third Tuesdays of each month at 10:00 AM to distribute Holy Communion to residents.
Salvatore Seminerio visits Arden Courts of Wayne (Dementia Care) every Tuesday at 10:00 AM, where he shares the Gospel and distributes Holy Communion to the residents.
Through this ministry, our Parish strives to ensure that those who are unable to attend church in person remain spiritually connected to the life of the Church and continue to receive the grace and comfort of the Sacraments.
